How we operate
How we lead
Every company we acquire is led on site by an entrepreneurial local managing director who bears full responsibility for operations and results.
Two goals are fixed:
Growth
Profitable growth is a must. It enables the second goal.
The local managing director is accountable for achieving it, not the employees.
Growth must never come at the expense of our employees.
Setting an example for society
In every respect: in attitude and quality of work, in how we treat our employees, and in their share of the additional profit.
The way to get there is decided locally.
Leadership receives full operational freedom to do so, and we stand behind it.
Profit sharing
The additional profit is measured against the adjusted baseline profit set at the time of acquisition. This baseline remains the permanent benchmark.
All additional profit is distributed as follows:
The holding company receives no share of the additional profit.
Holding company expenses are charged against the baseline profit. They do not reduce the additional profit.
Standing behind our people
We stand behind our people, on and off the job.
The Employee Assistance Fund is designed to support employees facing personal financial hardship, for example when their child needs essential medical treatment or when they face a legal dispute with their landlord.
Company-funded group term life insurance provides financial protection for employees’ families in the event of death.
Standing behind our people takes priority over any growth initiative.
Responsibility & entrepreneurship
We do not dilute responsibility. We foster entrepreneurship locally.
Each company is led locally by one person. That person makes operational decisions independently and bears full responsibility to the holding company.
There are no additional management layers or operational approval loops between the companies and the holding company. This also applies internationally: there are no country or regional levels.
Technical collaboration between our companies is arranged by their managing directors if they see value in it. We do not impose it.
What a holding company takes over centrally is no longer decided locally. And what is no longer decided locally is lost as an entrepreneurial capability.
We select our leaders and stand behind them.
If leadership on the ground fails, we have failed.
Permanent ownership
No fund dictates when we have to sell.
